The inland shipping industry association

Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland is the organization that serves as the natural spokesperson for all government authorities and other organizations on behalf of the inland shipping industry and its members.

KBN not only works for, but also collaborates with its members, stakeholders, and government entities towards a sustainable future for inland shipping. The Netherlands and transport over water are completely intertwined. Nearly 45% of all goods in the Netherlands is transported over water.

Our approach

The process started with interviews and brainstorm sessions with the colleagues of Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland.

Next, our design team went to the drawing board. Initial designs were made and presented to the customers. During intensive brainstorm session the magical idea was born. The new logo was inspired by the many rivers that flow through the Netherlands. A powerful logo, with a nice cherry on top: the royal crown.
